The Glenmore

Brooklyn, NY
As part of the team assembled by Urban Architectural Initiatives (UAI), LFLA designed the open space for this proposed 176-unit building under development by Women In Need (WIN) and NYC Housing Preservation and Development (NYC HPD) located on Junius Street in East New York, Brooklyn. Two existing WIN transitional housing facilities to the north combine with The Glenmore to create a campus like setting for WIN. The design scheme selected for the 7,000 sf side yard open space provides landscape, seating and active play areas on multiple levels as well as fluid, accessible transitions from the building entrance to the cellar commercial space.
