Brooklyn, NY

DESIGN: 2009

CONSTRUCTION: 2011

COST: $105,000

CLIENT: Progress of Peoples Development Corporation

The new site and landscape improvements to the existing community open space were part of a capital rehabilitation program to this 200 unit senior apartment complex built in 1980. Now inhabited by a culturally diverse population of seniors, the original bocce courts have long given way to vegetable gardens and Tai Chi is practiced daily on the east terrace. 36 garden plots are now available and residents tend to them from March through November.
