Stuyvesant Town - Peter Cooper Village, NYC
The goal of this collaborative effort with Mathews Nielsen Landscape Architects and the property horticulturalist/landscape manager was to assess, redesign, and develop management strategies for both properties’ struggling landscapes and implement those recommendations in four planting seasons. Home to 30,000 residents, this 80 acre 1940’s-era park-like complex is situated in the Gramercy section of Manhattan. Today, the grounds are lush with a variety of trees, shrubs, ground covers, and herbaceous materials, as well as manicured lawns that complement the distinctive setting of each property and offer seasonal and year-round interest and benefits for the enjoyment of the inhabitants.
