As part of the team assembled by Urban Architectural Initiatives (UAI), LFLA designed the open space for this 76-unit building development by Women in Need (WIN) and NYC Housing Preservation and Development (NYC HPD) located on Junius Street in East New York, Brooklyn. Two existing WIN transitional housing facilities to the north combine with The Stonehouse to create a campus like setting for WIN. The 7,000-sf side yard open space provides landscape, seating and active play areas on multiple levels as well as fluid, accessible transitions from the street and building entrances to the cellar commercial space.
