COMMUNITY ROOF SPACE, NYC

This reimagined 3,000 square foot roof open space provides building owners maximum seasonal use, spatial flexibility and visual interest, with a variety of seating areas, furnishings and materials.

The completed design features casual programmed spaces centered around the access bulkhead. Residents can relax in sunny areas on chaise lounges, entertain large gatherings or sit at the bar and take in the skyline views, throughout this very popular community space.

Highlights include:

  • Ipe clad Entertainment Island featuring cast stone top, wet bar, refrigerator and seating, ideal for entertaining small groups.
  • Community Kitchen Garden offers a variety of vegetables and herbs in season.
  • Wrap-around Ipe Bar Ledge, Circular Dining Tables and Casual Lounge Area with sectional couch add a variety of seating options from intimate gatherings to large group entertainment.
  • Simple, thoughtfully placed lighting facilitates evening use and highlights decorative panels while rambling vines and mixed annual plantings create a tranquil oasis. Additionally, the artistic screens and lightweight planters and lush plantings mask the unsightly bulkhead and mechanical units.
